Book violin and get classical music for your event
The violin is one of the most famous instruments in the classical music. The violin as we know it today was invented almost 500 years ago. Besides classical music, of course, the violin is often used in jazz, folk, country, pop and many other genres.
At Limunt we often book the violin to play classical music. Violin playing is one of the most moving things you can experience, as the sound of a violin is very distinctive and evokes the music and compositions of the great composers such as Mozart, Bach and Beethoven who have passed down through history.
What can you do to book the right violinist? It can be difficult to judge whether a musician plays well from a press release or an old iPhone recording. The good news is that we're here to help.
Cello vs violin – hvad er bedst live?
Many are considering whether to choose a violin or a cello til deres arrangement. De to instrumenter forveksles faktisk ofte, men der er stor forskel på de to. Violinen spiller nemlig i et højere register end celloen. Mange mennesker ville kalde violinens toner for ‘lysere’ end celloen.
The difference in sound between violin and cello is simply due to the size of the instruments and therefore the length of the strings. Both instruments are beautiful in their sound but each fulfils its role in an ensemble and as a solo instrument.
In Limunt we often recommend that the violin is matched with cello. In this way, the two instruments complement each other. The violin mostly plays the melody, and the cello provides the fullness, the bass and much of the dynamics of the music.

Guide to booking
We fully understand that it can be overwhelming to find just the right line-up for the party – we’re here to help you.
Choose violin duo for a fuller sound
Although the violin can play well on its own, it works much more powerfully with another instrument. For example, some people request a violin duet, but at Limunt we always recommend a duo of cello and violin. This classic duo is an obvious and very common choice in the classical music. There are many scores, arrangements and recordings with this type of instrumentation.
You also have the option to book a violin trio, cello og bratsch.
The most booked option with violin is clearly the classical string quartetthat completes any romantic event. Here you get a first violin, a second violin, a viola and the cello. The quartet is our own favourite violin band as the sound is full, expressive and very heartfelt. If you don't want to compromise on anything, the quartet is the preferred option.
